We offer services to people involved in legal proceedings, on parole or probation, and for those not involved in legal proceedings but are seeking diversion strategies and support.
At REDEFINE, our approach to sex offender treatment is based on Risks Needs Responsivity. This means that the level of sexual violence risk informs our treatment plan and approach. Most individuals seeking sex offender specific treatment have typically already undergone a psychosexual risk assessment in recent past. However, for those who have not undergone a psychosexual assessment, this will be the first step toward understanding one’s risk of recidivism which will ultimately serve as a framework for intervention.
Our clinicians who provide these services are Certified Sex Offender Treatment Providers which is the qualification required in the state of Virginia to render sex offender treatment. They implement an integrative approach to therapy utilizing evidenced based strategies such as cognitive behavioral therapy and the Good Lives Model to help clients take accountability for their actions, understand their relapse prevention cycle, and ultimately live fulfilling, balanced, and healthy lives. Our approach is one that is direct yet empathic and we work closely with clients’ supervision team (parole and probation officers and other involved professionals) to ensure clients are effectively reaching their goals.
